Welcome to Highland Holidays                                In Designated National Scenic Area

Explore the rugged, unspoilt beauty and breathtaking scenery of Wester Ross in one of our highly recommended cottages, all with excellent accommodation and panoramic views, in two superb locations; by the sea, or in the mountains.

Summer sunsets are absolutely stunning, whilst in the darker months, clear nights display the brightest and most numerous stars imaginable.

Choose from the picturesque villages of Melvaig, Aultgrishan or Peterburn, all within a short distance of Gairloch and overlooking the sea, Skye, Harris, Lewis and the Shiant Islands.

Or stay in the only cottage in the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve at Kinlochewe, near Torridon, overlooking the majestic mountains of Beinn Eighe, Slioch and the Torridons. A track next  to the house leads right up to the top of Beinn Eighe.

Explore the many quiet sandy beaches, bays and coves at Redpoint, Peterburn, Gairloch and Gruinard Bay, to name but a few.

Marine life includes whales, dolphins, porpoise, basking sharks and otters. A great opportunity to see them is by way of a short cruise from Gairloch Harbour.

Bird watchers will be thrilled with the many types and numbers of birds. Buzzards and sea eagles are often seen over the cottages, and even the golden eagle sometimes puts  in an appearance.

Walker’s and climbers can explore the many trails, routes and climbs in the area.

Experienced, qualified guides are available, who also teach rock climbing and abseiling; advance booking is essential.

Deer, eagles and pine martens can be seen, the latter having visited Cairn Shiel cottage for many years, usually in the evenings, enticed by the food which our regular visitors  leave out for them
